Unit Of Power: ERG
Roger E. Craig Cover design by Diane Delo, artist in residence, The Highlands of Leland, Michigan Outraged by the terrorist attacks and frustrated by Congressional interference with his use of the military, the President, using private funds provided by his oil buddies, establishes his own elite strike force. Demonstrating that Yale's, required semester of science was not wasted on him, the President calls the force his emergency response group. "ERG", a unit of power. His selection to assemble and then lead the group is Jan Kovocovic, an Israeli expatriate and master of violent anti-terrorist action. Kovocovic scours the nation's college locker rooms, urban gyms and karate schools to assemble a unit composed of two hundred perfect fighting machines. Moreover, they are men, who for reasons they don't understand, obey orders without question. To the President, ERG is a huge success. He uses it to eliminate evil wherever he perceives it to exist. When Kovocovic's two best recruits, Wesley Matthews and Jim Turner, joined by Kovocovic's adopted daughter, discover that their leader has his own agenda, the story races to an explosive conclusion. It is a wild ride.
When he isn't windsurfing or scuba-diving, Roger Craig is a trial lawyer. He writes his own appellate briefs, he explains, to sharpen his skills as a fiction writer. Two time Academic All-American in football, factory worker, musician, private detective, State Senator, special counsel to the House Judiciary Committee during the Nixon-Ford transition and the head of the City of Detroit's law department, Craig brings a wealth of personal experience to his writing. His previous publications include scholarly works, short fiction, and two novels also published by Denlinger, The Vetowich Wall, nominated for the prestigious Frankfort International eBook Award and Collateral Damage. Craig and his wife, Marlene, live in Naples, Florida, dividing their time between a Gulf shore condominium and the live-aboard trawler, Frayed Knot.
